Novatex at the Cyprus Planetarium: Biodiversity and Sustainability

Novatex at the Cyprus Planetarium: Biodiversity and Sustainability Eco-Schools September 9, 2026 19:02 pm On 5 September 2026, Novatex Solutions Ltd participated in an educational STEAM event at the Cyprus Planetarium within the framework of the Erasmus+ project EcoSchools: Empowering Teachers and Students to Foster Sustainability through Education. The activity focused mainly on biodiversity, pollution and environmental protection, introducing participants to key environmental concepts through discussion, observation and practical activities. A central part of the workshop explored the meaning and importance of biodiversity. Participants discussed the variety of living organisms found in different ecosystems and why maintaining biodiversity is essential for healthy and resilient environments. The session also encouraged participants to think about the ways human activities can disturb ecosystems and contribute to biodiversity loss. The workshop also addressed pollution and its impact on the environment. Participants explored how different forms of pollution can affect natural habitats, soil, water, wildlife and human well-being. Particular attention was given to the connection between everyday human activities and environmental pressures, helping participants understand how individual and collective choices can either increase or reduce pollution. Practical activities were used to make these concepts easier to understand. Participants examined the natural environment, discussed what can be found beneath the ground, observed how erosion can affect the landscape, and experimented with simple environmental monitoring tools. By combining biodiversity, pollution, sustainability and technology, the activity aimed to show that environmental protection is closely linked to the way people interact with ecosystems and use natural resources. The project’s educational materials are organised around five main themes: Climate Change Pollution Biodiversity & Ecosystems Sustainable Lifestyles & Consumption Shared Responsibility & Action Free educational materials, lesson plans, quizzes and activities are available through the EcoSchools learning platform for teachers, schools and other educators interested in integrating sustainability into classroom learning. 🌱  Project website: https://eco-schools.eu/ 📚 Learning platform: https://learn.eco-schools.eu 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ecoschoolsproject 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ecoschools_project/ Project Number: 2024-2-FR01-KA210-SCH-000274117 Funded by the European Union. EcoSchools TPM Meeting

EcoSchools TPM Meeting Eco-Schools November 10, 2025 09:51 am   The first transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ project Eco Schools took place in Crete on 14–15 October 2025, bringing together all partners — Novatex Solutions Ltd and Lycée Jean-Pierre TIMBAUD — for the first time. The project aims to equip educators with the knowledge, tools, and skills to integrate sustainability into school curricula, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among students. The main goal of the meeting was to plan our next actions and to review and refine the educational materials for secondary and high schools before their finalization. This process ensures that the content is comprehensive, well-structured, and ready for the upcoming teacher training sessions, while also strengthening collaboration and alignment among all project partners. Day 1 – Meeting and PlanningOn the first day, all partners got to know each other and discussed the project’s progress so far. We worked together on planning the next steps, which include: Creating training material to help teachers bring sustainability into their classrooms. Developing lesson plans for different age groups that connect sustainability themes with subjects like science, arts, and humanities. Designing fun and interactive activities and games that make learning about sustainability enjoyable. Including real-world examples of successful sustainability practices from around the world. Translating all materials into English, Greek, and French to make them accessible to all. Day 2 – Visit to the Environmental Education Centre of Archanes–Rouvas–GouvesOn the second day, we visited the Environmental Education Centre of Archanes–Rouvas–Gouves, where we: Learned about the Centre’s educational programmes and Erasmus+ accreditation. Exchanged ideas and good practices in sustainability education. Discussed how sustainability can be better integrated into school curricula. Explored opportunities for future cooperation between schools. We also celebrated #ErasmusDays together with the Environmental Education Centre of Archanes–Rouvas–Gouves, the Directorate of Primary Education of Heraklion, and the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, sharing inspiring moments and great energy. A big thank you to all partners for their participation and collaboration. Together, we continue working towards a greener and more sustainable future through education. #ErasmusDays #EcoSchools #SustainabilityEducation #GreenLearning     Latest news Girls in STEAM: Ambassadors in Action 13 Feb 2026 Eurogems Project ESTEM-3D: Good Practice 29 Jan 2026 Estem-3D Project Eurogems Training – IoT 23 Jan 2026 Eurogems Project Role Models Online Training Activity – Eurogems 10 Dec 2025 Eurogems Project Training Activity by Eurogems Role Model – Fotini Georgiou 01 Dec 2025 Eurogems Project Popular news Novatex Παρακολούθησε το 13o Συνέδριο InfoCom Cyprus 2022 "DigitALL Cyprus: Digital Trasnformation Everywhere!" 07 Dec 2022 News Novatex Παρευρέθηκε στη Συνάντηση Μελών ΚΣΕΕΚ στο ΚΕΒΕ 13 Dec 2022 News Novatex Participating at the European robotics forum 2023 in Odense in Denmark 03 Apr 2023 News Novatex Kick-Off Meeting for SMART HELIO Project 03 Apr 2023 News Unicorn Project EU 08 Jan 2020 Innovation
